At the Johns Hopkins Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, we improve the health of the community and the world by setting the standard of excellence in-patient and family-centered care, education and research. We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and engaging physician to join us in these efforts and to serve as a member of the division of Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Management. The ideal candidate will have a clear vision for advancing the subspecialty, as well as experience collaborating with anesthesiologists and other colleagues, and demonstrated skills in academic medicine. An academic anesthesiologist responsible for clinical care, education, quality improvement, and/or research. These responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of efficient and innovative regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine to ensure consistently high quality patient care in multiple settings (ambulatory, inpatient, off-floor, etc.)
  • Collaborations among divisional faculty and other clinical and/or basic research scientists across campus
  • Educating medical students, residents, and/or fellows in regional anesthesiology and acute pain medicine

Qualified candidates must show successful completion of an approved regional anesthesia and acute pain fellowship and residency program in anesthesiology. Candidates must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree and be eligible for licensure in Maryland.  Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in anesthesiology.
